Digital garment printing is ideal for multi colour designs with tones and or digital imagery. This process is ideal for t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and most cotton products.
This process can be used on any colour garment but can be slightly more expensive on darker garments but it enables you to have any kind of image printed on to your garments such as photos and graphics. Ideal for intricate designs on to a low number of garments (roughly below 200).
The advantage that DTG printing has over screen printing for short and medium runs is there are no set up costs. With screen printing you are required to burn screens for each colour you are printing. This typically is charged per screen, and as a result limits short run multi-colour designs as the screen costs are prohibitively expensive. With DTG printing you simply load your design and with a few clicks you can be printing a full colour design with no set up cost!
DTG inks are water based and kind to the environment. With our direct to garment machines we pour our ink from a bottle to a cartridge rather than spreading thick ink when screen printing.
DTG printing is achieved by droplets of ink being printed directly onto the fabric rather than filtering it through a mesh as you do in screen printing. Logically this means that finer detail can be achieved, photographic images or text as small as 1mm.
